An Epic Day Trip To Mount Fuji

Getting a view of Mount Fuji in Japan can be a bit tricky, but when you do, it’s absolutely jaw-dropping!

The weather often plays spoilsport, covering the mountain like a veil, making it impossible to get a clear view.

My day trip too to this must-visit site began with skepticism as it turned out to be a cloudy day. But the predictions showing clear skies later in the day was like the glimmer of hope!

Kawaguchiko (the gateway to Mt. Fuji) region is full of scenic vistas—beautiful lakes, verdant parks, gardens, and hills.

The best way of traveling from Tokyo is by train. The iconic super fast trains of Japan are an experience in themselves, rewarding travelers with great views!

On reaching the town (Kawaguchiko), it was drizzling, and my heart sank. It seemed unlikely to catch a glimpse of Fuji that day. Imagine traveling from so far away, just for a day, only to experience this kind of disappointment.

The best way then was to take the cable car to a point on a hilltop, which was attempted but with not much luck!

Finally, I just hopped onto a tourist bus, thinking that atleast I must explore the picturesque town before heading back. But surprisingly landed at a park, and this is what I encountered……

The most spectacular, picture postcard views of the mountain..…at such close proximity…. it was unexpected, unbelievable!
